Apostle of color

While some call Lubomyr Martyniuk the "apostle of color" and his paintings "healing", others arrogantly declare: "Not modern!" With the light hand of art critics, the artist found himself outside of modern and traditional painting.

However, the situation of "neither here nor there" does not bother Lyubchyk himself, as the artist's friends call him: his exhibitions are held with enviable regularity, his inspiration grows every day, and his fans simply do not let him pass.

"Lyubomir is a unique artist and an equally unique person: I haven't seen so much energy, zeal and desire to live and create for a long time," says art critic Oksana Nestorovych. "And most importantly, he charges everyone around with this crazy energy - through his paintings and a heart open to everyone."

Nowadays, a painting is a prayer

I would like to have a painting that would save the world and people. I feel that nowadays, a painting is a prayer. You just repent for the whole world. You humble yourself and embody God's tears, love and smile. Every second is precious in our life. War forces you to be responsible for every stroke.

When the war started, an inner understanding came to me that I had to do more. Write as many pictures as possible. In the movie "El Greco", the main character's father led a revolution in Greece, trying to save his people. His artist son broke brushes and also wanted to pick up a weapon, but his father told him that he should "fight" with paints. I have always had the feeling that if I do something that is not in my heart, it means that I have given myself into the hands of the enemy, and the enemy is my fear.
